Photo of The Month for July!

Photo of the month goes to Matt Hatley, Rockwell, NC.

Matt Hatley is a rare find. Not only is he talented; he has a great since of humor.
Rather than paraphrase we found it better to just copy and paste a little about him. Best quotes we've seen: .....

“I got into carving when I was a little feller, finally got to cutting wood instead of my fingers, I still hit them fingers once in a while, and it teaches ya to be careful!  I carve now with anything that’ll make saw dust. The best advice I can give is to be careful, and learn your tools. The computer has all the information anyone needs to learn how to carve. The next step is doing it! Ya see something you like, try to make it. The more you do the more ya learn.  If it don’t turn out, throw it in the fire, it’ll burn!  Least it will keep you warm! I like to use cedar it makes good fires! If you do learn something, try to pass it on, this younger generation needs all the help they can get!”

He is a very creative guy. Unlike most carvers we have came across; he also does fairy gardens. They are beautiful.

Special Thanks to Matt for the laughs and allowing us to put his artwork up on our website.

Welcoming Scott & Katelynn Thorpe, The Old Rednek Workshop!

We might be an online business that sells chainsaw parts, but we also love to share and promote other people’s art and businesses to. We take pride in showing off people’s fantastic work for everyone to enjoy.

We have added a new wood worker to our gallery on our website, Scott and Katelynn.

Scott and Katelynn Thorpe (Father / Daughter Team), The Old Rednek Workshop, is located in Luttrell, TN. Scott is most proud of his daughter and provides support to this young creative and ambitious entrepreneur. Katelynn is a straight A student and grew up around her fathers work shop all of her life. Last year, at the age of 16, Katelynn decided to start her own business. Artistic, talented, ambitious, and determined, we are happy to report The Old Rednek Workshop is producing some dazzling pieces of art. Although the company operates primarily through Facebook, Katelynn has even negotiated for her company to provide products to some of the stores in Gatlinburg, TN. Us parents at Chainsaw Shed would like to commend Katelynn in her endeavor, and would like to extend our heartfelt admiration to Scott for being such a great Dad, mentor and supporter.

You can see more of her work at http://www.chainsawshed.com/pages/ChainsawCarvers/Woodworking/oldrednekkatelynn.html or join the on Facebook and The Old Rednek Workshop. Make sure to spell Redneck, Rednek, so you can be able to find them on Facebook.
